Junior Trials;
Owen Livesey stormed through the U73s to take a very convincing Gold. Amy Livesey competed in her 1st Junior Trials in the U63s and won a well earned Bronze Medal. Jessica Mair fought hard but only managed 5th place.

Owen lost in the quarter finals and then again in the repacharge.
Mark Beirne went out 1st fight.

Owen Livesey U73kg Senior-Put on a fine display in his 2nd Senior Competition taking Gold after 5 fights.
Peter Smith U81kg Junior-Winning four fights earning him a place in the final Peter was then caught cold at the start of the fight loosing by ippon resulting in a well earned silver medal.
British National Age Bands Results;
Owen Livesey U73kg took his 3rd consecutive Gold medal with another great performance winning all of his fights by ippon.
Mark Beirne U66kg took his 2nd consecutive Gold medal coming through a really hard draw to make it to the final winning convincingly by ippon.
Tizzi Manfredi O70kg took her 1st Gold medal after 12 months out of competition it was great to see her back on top form.
Amy Livesey U63kg took her 1st Gold medal with some good performances through to the final then winning in Golden score by a yuko.
Bekky Livesey U63kg took Silver medal after some good performances through to the final,this being her 1st competition in this weight catagory.
Peter Smith U81kg-Rachael Green O63kg both came 5th after some good fights.

Polish Training Camp-Five players and two coaches travelled to the town of ZYWIEC for a 5 day training camp with some of the best players in Poland. The experience the players gained from this camp was invaluable to their future in top level judo.

28th June 2008-Owen and coach Peter Blood travelled to Germany(this was a 1st for the club)after 5 fights winning them all comfortably Owen took his 1st GOLD in a U20 International.

Venray International.
8th June 2008-Owen had 6 fights winning 3 by ippon gaining him a place in the final, unfortunatley he lost in the last minute, coming away with a well earned silver medal. As a result of this Owen has now been selected for the Polish U20 tournament in July.

SKK V BYTOM
Players from SKK Judo Club travelled to Bytom in Poland for a club exchange visit with Radik`s club, during their stay they took part in the Polish Cadet Training camp in Szczyrk, visited a silver mine,met with the president and did lots of hard training. The above picture was a team event between SKK and Bytom Judo club, it was a very close contest with skk just loosing out 10-7.
SKK now looks forward to a return visit by players from Bytom Judo Club in the near future.
