Amy will compete in the cadet competition in the Czech Republic in the May Bank Holliday weekend.
Owen and Mark have been selected for the competition in Lugi in Sweden on May 1st.

Skk Judo club travelled to Holland with a group of players and parents, had a great weekend and came away with 3 medals;

Mark Beirne had a tough day, after missing some training due to exam commitments he battled on improving with each fight and came away with a well deserved Gold Medal.
Jessica Mair won bronze ,a better placing was well within her capabilities.
Newburn Open;
Jessica Mair travelled up to Newcastle and came away with a silver medal.
North West Senior Open;
Radik,a fairly knew member of the Skk coaching team competed in the U73kg for the first time in GB and won a creditable silver medal. WELL DONE RADIK.
Owen Livesey fought in the U73kg/2nd kyu and below section, winning all of his 4 fights by ippon he took Gold.
British Junior Trials;
Mark Beirne came 3rd in the U66kg, the first player from SKK to achieve this in more than 10 years. This was a great result for Mark resulting in him being selected to represent GB on the U20s National Squad.

Wayne Lomax finished in 4th place in this weekends British Wrestling Championships at -60kg.
This was Wayne's first ever Wrestling Competition and narrowly missed out on the medals against seasoned wrestlers.

Former SKK Judoka, Michelle Rogers secured her place yesterday for next years Beijing Olymic Games by winning the Rotterdam Super World Cup in Holland.
This was Michelle's second World Cup victory in a week as she won Estonia a week ago to evelvate her to No.1 on the European Olympic Qualification List at -78kg

Thanks to all the Performance Players, Anne and Graham Bailey, parents and of course - THE Players, for a fantastic FUN DAY RED BELT compeition.

Over the weekend, SKK players travelled to Brno in the Cech Republic.
On Saturday, Sebastian Morgon-Green and Amy Livesey got the team off to a good start winning Gold and 2 Silvers in the U15s.
On Sunday, the older members of the team continued with the team's success with Wayne Lomax winning GOLD..

Wayne Lomax took Gold in last weekends NI Senior Open Championships in Belfast and Owen Livesey won 1 his 3 contests in the Poland Cadet 'A' Championships in Krakow.
Dutch Cup - Holland
Owen Livesey travelled with GB to the Dutch Cup. Owen fought well to win the u73kg, winning 4 of his 5 contests by ippon.
Kocksijde Training Camp

15 SKK players enjoyed a weekend's hard training camp in Kocksijde, Belgium.
Over 180 players from Isreal, Holland, France and Belgium attended the camp which included randori and technique.
These camps are invaluable for our players development and although extremely hard work, they are fun a time away!!!! |

Youngster, Marc Beirne, competing in his frst Senior event, was fantastic in winning Bronze in the -66kgs.
